Our Studio

Where heritage meets vision, and every stitch tells a story

Portrait of Bay Bay, founder of BuyTheBay

Our Founder

Bay Bay

Bay Bay grew up watching her mother weave silk on a wooden loom in their family home — a quiet ritual that planted the first seeds of a lifelong passion for fabric and form. Those childhood afternoons spent among threads and patterns shaped a vision she carried all the way to design school.

A recent graduate of fashion design, Bay Bay launched BuyTheBay with bold ambition and a clear point of view: to create Western dresses infused with the warmth and artistry of Asian design sensibility. Fresh eyes, steady hands, and an unwavering commitment to craft define her approach.

Though her studio is young, her work has already turned heads — earning early recognition from bridal clients and fashion peers alike. Every piece she creates carries the energy of someone building something meaningful from the ground up, one stitch at a time.

Design Philosophy

Guided by Heritage, Driven by Vision

At BuyTheBay, we believe fashion is a conversation between heritage and the human hand. Asia's rich textile traditions are our muse — the intricate silk patterns, the luminous fabrics, the generations of weaving mastery. Every collection begins with these traditions, where we find the colours, textures, and movement that will define each piece.

We reject the disposable. Our philosophy is rooted in permanence: garments designed to be treasured, constructed with techniques learned from master artisans, and finished with materials that age with grace. Each creation is a bridge between the timeless art of Asian silk craftsmanship and the fresh perspective of a new generation of designers.

Our Process

From Vision to Garment

01

Consultation & Vision

Every creation begins with an intimate conversation. We listen to your story, understand your vision, and sketch the first lines of a garment that will be uniquely yours.

02

Fabric Selection

Our artisans guide you through our curated collection of fine textiles — from hand-woven silk charmeuse to rare dupioni silk sourced from weaving studios across Asia.

03

Pattern & Toile

A bespoke pattern is drafted to your exact measurements. A toile — a muslin prototype — is constructed and fitted, ensuring every line and proportion is perfected before cutting the final fabric.

04

Hand Construction

Master seamstresses bring the design to life through hundreds of hours of hand-stitching, beading, and embroidery. Each detail is executed with meticulous precision.

05

Final Fitting & Delivery

Multiple fittings ensure a flawless silhouette. The finished garment is pressed, inspected, and presented in our signature ocean-blue garment box.
